I have worked for APAX for six months. This company is really unique, both in the way it engages students and supports teachers.
I never expected to have such a wonderful balance of work and life. Teaching in the evenings means I have all day free to explore Hanoi, practice yoga, take Vietnamese lessons, read and work in coffee shops and make art. There is no lesson planning required of teachers so I don’t spent much of my free time thinking about how to put together lessons. All my materials are provided.

The smart boards and green screen technology make my job easy and engages my students. The structure and pattern of the lessons becomes second nature very quickly.
My favorite part of working for APAX is how creative I get to be with my students. I really love that the focus of the program is on expression and performance. In the few months I have worked at APAX I have watched students come out of their shells are learn to speak and express themselves confidently. Instead of spending my time lesson planning I get to put my energy towards making fun videos with my students.

My favorite part of working with APAX is the kids! Who could possibly have a bad day at work when you get to see such bright and sunny faces every day? APAX gives me the time and space to develop meaningful relationships with my students and to grow as a teacher. Because I have good lessons already prepared for me and nobody is looking over my shoulder at school, I can trust my training and focus on the kids.

Another thing I really like is that APAX offers opportunities to do work other than just teach. You can move up and gain valuable administrative experience as a head teacher. If you have other qualifications, you can often find ways to work with APAX in other fields alongside your time in the classroom. The easy schedule gives you time to do what you want.

With a very accommodating schedule, I have been able to devote myself to other hobbies and pursuits. I am free to spend my afternoons working on my novel and exploring Hanoi's many secrets. I have made a number of friends through APAX's network of teachers and support that will continue long after my time in Vietnam has come to an end.

APAX has been a remarkably rewarding experience for me - as a teacher, as a traveler, and as a human being. The supportive network of fellow teachers and staff, along with the amazing country and the joyful students, makes APAX a uniquely fulfilling education company for ESL teachers in Asia.

APAX prides itself on its "creative learning" approach, and I have found that this extends to the teachers as well as the students. It is a pleasurable challenge to help your students write scripts, storyboard videos, and prepare presentations. It is invigorating to build reading comprehension with actions, and to work in an environment where the occasional spontaneous dance move is not only welcomed but encouraged.
